Friday Favorites

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is less than a week away. I feel like just yesterday we were rolling into September and the holidays still seemed like they were an eternity away. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have seen that I broke out a box of Christmas decorations. I know, I know, I am supposed to wait until after Thanksgiving—psssht. It was only one box, and it was all the fun holiday decor I found throughout the year, and ahem, never got away to putting into storage. Better to start decorating than to have the box continue to sit on the floor in my craft room, right?

Here is another small Friday Favorites roundup, I haven’t had much time to read blogs, but these things caught my eye.

A Marilyn inspired pin curl tutorial, yes please!

You know I am going to be making my own little atomic ranch Christmas house this year!

Chai Pear Scones, yum!

Or how about cranberry shortbread? Double yum!

Do you guys read Eartha Kitsch? If not you should be, this post is a great example of why I love her blog.

How to shape a sharp corner, this could potentially change my crafting forever.

This post is a little late in the day, but here it is.

I have been so busy working on sewing and knitting project, along with my day to day business I have hardly had the time to turn on the computer. I have so much to share (the cowichan I finished, a skirt I sewed last weekend), but with the shorter days and a very wild toddler, I pretty much have to wait until the weekends to attempt to get a picture.

Well anyway, here are some favorite links for you. I hope you all enjoy your weekend.

This sundried tomato and butternut bisque sounds delicious, and it’s vegan!

I have a real weakness for mid century lamps, this post seriously made me drool.

This post is so fascinating to me. I would love to refinish some things around my house, but it will have to wait until Lucy (and any other future babes) are grown up enough to show proper respect to a piece of furniture.

Check out this pleated bundt pillow tutorial, love this!

Apple cinnamon scones, need I say more?

I loved this fashion post on Vampira from Va-Voom Vintage.

I have been sewing a lot lately. This post on lining up stripes is very useful.

Happy Friday friends!

I really can’t believe it is Friday already. The weeks have just been flying by lately, before we know it the holidays will be here. I can not wait. Last year Lucy had no idea what was going on, but this year I think we will have an incredible Christmas, and I am really looking forward to starting some amazing family traditions.

Have a glorious weekend!

You guys, pumpkin cinnamon rolls.

Not quite cold enough here yet, but I can’t wait to try out this orange ginger toddy.

I love this red and white 1930′s kitchen.

These apple cider cupcakes with caramel frosting sound divine, and they are vegan!

Happy Friday! This week flew by for me, which is a good and a bad thing. Mostly good, since today is Friday. I do wish I had tackled a bit more of my to-do list. I am terrible at cleaning and never do it unless I have motivation. Half the time I think I invite people over just so I will have a clean house.

Anyway, I am looking forward to some relaxing family time this weekend, full of music, a few mimosas, lots of knitting, hopefully some sewing, lots and lots of hugs and snuggles, dancing, and maybe a teeny tiny bit of cleaning. I am trying to turn my hoarder ways around and bring a lot of junk to the thrift store, rather than taking a lot of junk home, which is what I am used to.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Here are some things I found interesting this week. Have a great weekend!

I love flavored oils, tarragon oil sounds delicious!

Triple coconut cookies. Yum!

This autumn chickpea and greens stew sounds delicious (and has all of Lucy’s favorite flavors in it!), I plan on trying this one next week.

This post is one of the most amazing things ever. If you hate Wes Anderson and don’t care for sewing, don’t bother clicking.

Mary Blair is one of my all time favorite illustrators. Check out this post from Modern Kiddo with some of her art from Cinderella.

Here is some house eye candy for you.

This is one of my most favorite-ist posts of all time, ever. I wish I had those Photoshop skills!

Friday Favorites are back!

It has been a very long time, but here are a few things I enjoyed around the internet. If you have any interesting links, or perhaps a link roundup on your own blog, please feel free to share in the comments.

This scallop yoke tutorial for a little girl’s dress.

Gertie is hosting a coat sew along on her blog. I bought the pattern, but already know I won’t be able to keep up with the schedule. I do however plan on following along, and (hopefully) making the coat at a more leisurely pace.

Do you guys follow the Vintage Pattern Files? If not (and you are into knitting), you definitely should. Wendy hunts down free patterns around the web and links them all on her blog, how nice!

10 green ways to get excited about fall.

These apple pie bundles look perfect right about now.

Pesto deviled eggs, why didn’t I think of that?

I absolutely adore this little dress up book and am filing this idea away for when Lucy is a little older.

Call me crazy (or don’t, because I already know I am and can be sensitive about these things), but I kind of want to live in this house. Or at least vacation for a week in it.
