It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is less than a week away. I feel like just yesterday we were rolling into September and the holidays still seemed like they were an eternity away. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have seen that I broke out a box of Christmas decorations. I know, I know, I am supposed to wait until after Thanksgiving—psssht. It was only one box, and it was all the fun holiday decor I found throughout the year, and ahem, never got away to putting into storage. Better to start decorating than to have the box continue to sit on the floor in my craft room, right?

Here is another small Friday Favorites roundup, I haven’t had much time to read blogs, but these things caught my eye.

A Marilyn inspired pin curl tutorial, yes please!

You know I am going to be making my own little atomic ranch Christmas house this year!

Chai Pear Scones, yum!

Or how about cranberry shortbread? Double yum!

Do you guys read Eartha Kitsch? If not you should be, this post is a great example of why I love her blog.

How to shape a sharp corner, this could potentially change my crafting forever.

This post is a little late in the day, but here it is.

I have been so busy working on sewing and knitting project, along with my day to day business I have hardly had the time to turn on the computer. I have so much to share (the cowichan I finished, a skirt I sewed last weekend), but with the shorter days and a very wild toddler, I pretty much have to wait until the weekends to attempt to get a picture.

Well anyway, here are some favorite links for you. I hope you all enjoy your weekend.

This sundried tomato and butternut bisque sounds delicious, and it’s vegan!

I have a real weakness for mid century lamps, this post seriously made me drool.

This post is so fascinating to me. I would love to refinish some things around my house, but it will have to wait until Lucy (and any other future babes) are grown up enough to show proper respect to a piece of furniture.

Check out this pleated bundt pillow tutorial, love this!

Apple cinnamon scones, need I say more?

I loved this fashion post on Vampira from Va-Voom Vintage.

I have been sewing a lot lately. This post on lining up stripes is very useful.

Happy Friday friends!

I really can’t believe it is Friday already. The weeks have just been flying by lately, before we know it the holidays will be here. I can not wait. Last year Lucy had no idea what was going on, but this year I think we will have an incredible Christmas, and I am really looking forward to starting some amazing family traditions.

Have a glorious weekend!

You guys, pumpkin cinnamon rolls.

Not quite cold enough here yet, but I can’t wait to try out this orange ginger toddy.

I love this red and white 1930′s kitchen.

These apple cider cupcakes with caramel frosting sound divine, and they are vegan!

The beautiful vintage housewares on this blog always make me drool, I enjoyed this post on creating cute displays.

Happy Friday! This week flew by for me, which is a good and a bad thing. Mostly good, since today is Friday. I do wish I had tackled a bit more of my to-do list. I am terrible at cleaning and never do it unless I have motivation. Half the time I think I invite people over just so I will have a clean house.

Anyway, I am looking forward to some relaxing family time this weekend, full of music, a few mimosas, lots of knitting, hopefully some sewing, lots and lots of hugs and snuggles, dancing, and maybe a teeny tiny bit of cleaning. I am trying to turn my hoarder ways around and bring a lot of junk to the thrift store, rather than taking a lot of junk home, which is what I am used to.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Here are some things I found interesting this week. Have a great weekend!

I love flavored oils, tarragon oil sounds delicious!

Triple coconut cookies. Yum!

This autumn chickpea and greens stew sounds delicious (and has all of Lucy’s favorite flavors in it!), I plan on trying this one next week.

This post is one of the most amazing things ever. If you hate Wes Anderson and don’t care for sewing, don’t bother clicking.

Mary Blair is one of my all time favorite illustrators. Check out this post from Modern Kiddo with some of her art from Cinderella.

Here is some house eye candy for you.

This is one of my most favorite-ist posts of all time, ever. I wish I had those Photoshop skills!

This week has been a struggle for me. Though I can be quite an emotional person in my head, I almost never let emotions get the best of me. Blame it on the pregnancy and my increasing inability to get a good nights sleep, but I have been a wreck this week. Yesterday, for example, I was working on sewing some diapers, and after having some trouble with the thread breaking a few times (it is incredibly difficult to sew the PUL waterproof layer), I broke down in tears and stopped what I was doing to mope around for the remainder of the day. Somehow I pulled it together enough to work on a drawing I am doing, but even that was a struggle.

I did get a better nights sleep last night, and am feeling slightly more optimistic this morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can make it through the day without another ridiculous mini meltdown like what happened yesterday.

This whole pregnancy thing is so weird. It is such a strange and frightening feeling to think that my body is no longer mine, and much of what is happening to it I have no control over. Some times I forget that there is a little baby in my belly, then I get a nice jab in the side, and she reminds me she is in there.

Okay, on to the pretty things!

1. Birdcage and floral print, 2. Suburb, 3. Craft Room7

How cute are these pillows from Vintage Jane?

I am in love with this series, back to the future.

I saw this beautiful print on a blog recently (can’t remember which one right now, sorry!), but it is from Charmaine Olivia, and I think I need this in my house!

Fleur made a lovely video about doing easy and quick victory rolls.

I loved this post on Pamplemousse1983 about how to do a linocut. Definitely saving this for future projects!

I will probably read this post three more times–these third trimester tips have really helped me already.

Grasshopper brownie bars. Need I say more?

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Ahhhh, Friday. What a week! Looking back I can’t remember what I did, but I know I didn’t spend it all in front of the television wasting my days away…..right? It seems like there is so little time as it is, I have worried a bit about how it will be when the baby arrives. I don’t want to ‘let myself go’ and stay in my pajamas with messy hair all day, and I would really like to be able to do a little bit of art from time to time. Those things seem so hard to fit into my day now though, I just don’t want to lose site of myself. This whole pregnancy thing has sure turned me into a worry wart!

Anyhow, here are some things I enjoyed this week.

1. moncheri love letter cookies, 2. donuts., 3. Paper Bee

This dress from Nod to Mod Vintage is so gorgeous! I can’t wait to be able to wear cute little dresses like this!

This moth necklace from My Selvaged Life is beautiful!

This print (and everything else!) from Swan Bones.

This fox lamp tutorial is amazing! I definitely see a little light up fox in my future!

This stenciled scarf is so simple and pretty!

I just found this canning blog, but I am in love! Food in Jars.

These free printable Valentines Day Cards from Inside a Black Apple are too cute!

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a lovely week. Mine seemed to fly by, and I am happy to say that I have gotten a lot more done this week than I did last. Fingers crossed that I can keep this energy up for many more weeks to come, between sewing diapers, finding a way to fit the new baby in, and some personal art related goals, I have a lot to do!

If you follow me on Twitter you probably noticed me tweeting about Indian food a lot this week. I got a new cookbook (660 Curries by Raghaven Iyer) and have been trying out several new Indian recipes. So far everything I have made has been delicious, and I am making more tonight. Currently I am in the process of making paneer cheese for a very tasty sounding paneer curry recipe–I can’t wait, I am so obsessed with Indian food!

Anyway, here are some of my favorite things from this week.

I am keeping this week’s Friday Favorites short but sweet. I have been a bit low on energy the past few days and am trying to work through this little bump. I hate being so unproductive, but I really haven’t been able to get my butt in gear for a prolonged amount of time. A nice big cup of coffee (or two) sounds so amazing right now, but alas, I have cut out caffeine for the duration of this pregnancy.

Here are some of my favorite things this week:

I must try this chocolate peanut spread from Smitten Kitchen.

I am so in love with these darling cookie cutters from Wee Waldorf.

I just heard about this art exhibition in LA honoring the 20th anniversary of Twin Peaks! I am so excited, Russ and I are going to try to go.

This Etsy shop is one of the cutest I have seen, I just adore the set the owner created!

Brittany of Va-Voom Vintage made a great post on how to use color in our wardrobe.

Happy Friday! I have been a bit quiet here this past week because I have been busy organizing my closets and working on my art in my spare time. I have all sorts of new ideas, that I am just itching to get started on. Maybe this weekend I will get some pictures taken of what I am working on to share.

Here are some of my favorite things this week.

This peacock teacup.

These scans from InStyle magazine about Dita Von Teese and her home are lovely!

Thanks to Aya of Strawberry Koi for introducing me to the beautiful and magical art of Foyaland.

This tutorial for making fabric roses is darling. I can’t wait to make some of my own!

I loved this recycled calendar sketchbook tutorial from Brain Overflow. I never know what to do with my old calendars, and this is the perfect solution!
