Some Recent Finds

By Cedar | October 7, 2013

I have had some really fantastic finds lately. These days I mostly regular the swap meet, though I will hit up a few thrift stores throughout the week to hold me over until the weekend arrives again. There is an amazing one only five minutes from our house. I wake up at 6 AM, throw on some clothes, kiss the husband and the kid, and head just before opening time at 6:30. I do this almost every Saturday and Sunday. I usually walk the entire market twice. I do a quick first walk, looking for those treasures that stand out and will be snapped up right away if I don’t find them first. The second walk around I take my time and look a lot more carefully, digging through boxes, looking in jewelry cases, etc.

I found the gorgeous cups and pitcher above for $10 yesterday at the swap meet. A steal if you ask me, I had a single squiggly cup in already.

Love chalkware fishies! $2 at the swap meet.

Melamine sugar and cream bowls (swap meet), leather purse (thrift store), plate (swap meet), bakelite spacer ($2 at swap meet)

How amazing are these rabbit ears?! They were $12 at the thrift store, but upon seeing them I knew I couldn’t leave with them. The deer vase/planter I got a few months ago at the swap meet, as well as the lamp.

Baby guide books from 1942, why not? 25 cents for the two.

I scored these beautiful chairs ($5 for the pair!) yesterday at the swap meet. They do need a good cleaning, and there is a bit of rust, but they are otherwise in excellent condition.
