A Day at the Fair

By Cedar | June 30, 2013

I’ll be honest, things like the fair intimidate me a lot. As an adult I have found that I like the idea of certain activities or events better than I actually like the event. The fair is one of those. There are just so, so many people (not to mention the nauseating smells of chocolate covered bacon and other disgusting fair fare). The last time we went was about four or five years ago, pre baby, when Russ and I went to see Loretta Lynn. We went exclusively for the show, took some photo booth photos along the way, and promptly left after. I guess we are not much fun.

Last week a dear friend of mine gifted us some free tickets. We sucked it up, went out in public, and had a great time. We walked through the farm animals for Lucy’s enjoyment, then found our way to a quiet area at the side of the fair where Lucy could run around, look at plants, and we could eat our deep fried lardy food in peace. All in all it was a great day. I am however still regretting the deep fried zucchini, french fries, and popcorn I ate. Next year we are packing a lunch!
