It has been a long time since I have sewn anything. I have done some mending here and there (mostly there), and made a stuffed doll for Lucy last Christmas. I have had lots of plans, but nothing I have really followed through with.
Once upon a time I had dreams of becoming a great home seamstress. That dream is laughable now. Not that it is totally unachievable, but my kid is high energy and I have a lot of hobbies. Knitting has moved to the top of the list because it is the one activity I can do on the sofa next to my husband with my feet on the coffee table. Well, until my needles start to slow and my chin hits my chest and my head bolts up, then my husband tries to convince me to put the needles down and move to the bed. I usually protest and try to knit another row, making it seven stitches in until my head starts drooping again.
Anyway, I am planning on making the pants pictured above. Pants. Scary, I know. I made my first pair of pants early in my pregnancy. Though I altered the vintage pattern to make them even more slim fitting than the already supposed slim fit, my poor legs were never able to get away from looking like saggy elephant skin. Don’t try to convince me otherwise, because I remember trying so hard to tuck the unfortunate sags back, and pose just right so they looked somewhat flattering. I attempted to wear them out once (actually to the ultrasound where we found out we were having a girl!), and after that tucked them away and swore off vintage maternity fashions altogether.
Well, I think I am going to give pants another go. Maybe I’m crazy, but I desperately want some pants. I have a wardrobe full of dresses, tops, and skirts. Among those is a single pair of skinny jeans I bought last year, which never really suited me. If anyone has any pant sewing advice or helpful resources I would really love to hear it.

Look up the colette patterns pants alterations posts? They are tremendously helpful at figuring out what to do next with removing the saggy look.
