The image above, one that has been ingrained in my brain since I was a little girl. I won’t go in to how much I love The Parent Trap in this post, and I will only say that the ranch house in that movie has been my dream home as far back as I can remember. I also won’t say much about how beautiful and amazing Maureen O’Hara is, because that is obvious. No, this post is about just this one image.
Everything about this is so effortless and graceful. It is not just how I want to dress, but how I want to act and how I want to feel. The classic silhouette in the bold colors, the neatly kept hair, the apron that’s not really an apron, and though you can’t see her feet, I am betting they are bare–and I love that.
This picture is exactly how I want to look, every day.

You are so rad, Cedar. I admire you so much and you should know that!

Oh my GOSH I love The Parent Trap so much. I’m the only person I know of (until now, haha!) who used to watch that version over and over and over and over.

As soon as I saw the pale blue top and dark blue skirt, it brought me back about 20 years. I loved The Parent Trap. Thanks for sharing this.

I live near Carmel Valley and have friends there. There are still houses like this! So fun to see again. I LOVE that movie. So glad I have kids so I have an excuse to watch again!

I know exactly what you mean by wanting your life to encompass a certain image. I this image of a mid century palm springs trailer and a pool that I need a vacation in my life to be.
